Snowledge Ambassador Scot Chrisman Christens New Podcast for Skiers

September 17th, 2020

When I decided to start a podcast for skiers it was August of 2017, and I had no clue how it would come together, but my mind was set. I had only found out what a podcast was in April of 2017—let me clarify—I mean I had heard of podcasts before, but I started listening regularly to the Tim Ferriss show last April and found out how much knowledge could be conveyed over an audio show, and how convenient this format for “downloading” knowledge could actually be. After listening to countless podcasts during long drives back and forth between Denver and Crested Butte, CO, I found myself with a burning desire to actually create one of my own about skiing, and to interview the people at the top of their game.

To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t 100% sure how this was going to go, but as you’ll find out if you listen to the inaugural episodes shared here, when you go for something and really send it, things have a way of working themselves out. And that’s exactly what happened when I decided to launch The Athletic Stance, my new podcast show where I drop knowledge through interviewing those who have much to share (available on iTunes, Stitcher, SoundCloud, and coming soon also on Google Play). I’m stoked to have the Snowledge team’s stamp of approval, too, it means a lot.

Initially, I reached out to a couple people I had grown up with that are crushing it, as well as a few connections from years back from people that I really respect. Low and behold, most of them responded and I set up the interviews! The first guest was especially fun to chat with: Lexi DuPont, who welcomed me for the interview at her tiny home in Sun Valley, Idaho. She’s been featured in classics like Warren Miller’s Wintervention and Tracing Skylines, and had a ton to share. My second interview is with Ian McIntosh, a big mountain skier with huge personality.

My goal with each podcast episode is: spread snowledge that will make a difference for listeners. My aim is to help the community understand more about the routines, fitness, nutrition, ways of overcoming fear, the environment, sustainability and a whole lot more from the people who are at the top sport.

Again, this is a community, and we are all members connected by what we love: enjoying the outdoors through skiing and riding, whether solo or with friends. Honestly, I’d love to hear what the Snowledge Community has to say about my show and the first episodes, and to please help spread the snowledge for everyone to hear. That being said, if you’ve found value from listening or learning from my efforts to bring our community these amazing insights, any ratings, reviews or subscriptions for the show go a long way in helping me continue this work and reach more skier’s in the industry to further gain access to unique perspectives on life and the world around us. It’s all about passing it on, and sharing what we’ve learned with others, so we can all have our best day on the mountain.

So please, check out The Athletic Stance: A Skier’s Perspective, with yours truly, Scot Chrisman, at any of these sites linked below. Seriously, your help and input is greatly appreciated so thanks for reaching out.

And remember: if you’re not having fun, you’re doing it wrong!

P.S. Some shows may contain Explicit Content, or Bad Language, so be sure and use those earbuds when around the groms.

P.P.S. Don’t forget to get the more out of your day on the mountain with the Snowledge app, too. And come find my profile and connect once you’ve downloaded the app!
